A brief about myself

Screen name : Maala Parvathi 
Age: 49

I am an actor,doing character  roles in Malayalam film industry.  I started my acting career in 2007 with the film Time, Directed by Shaji Kailas. In 2009 I did Neelathamara directed by Laljose written by the celebrated writer M.T Vasudevan Nair.

Simultaneously I also started doing theatre . I was part of Abhinaya Theatre Group and trained by M.G Jyothish the renowned theatre director. Since then I have  performed in many theatre festivals including IBSEN International Theatre Festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav, World Theatre Festival, Brisbane to name a few. From 2007 till now I have acted in more than 80 films in Malayalam. I was quite lucky to work with very acclaimed directors like  Lal Jose,T.V Chandran, Ranjith, Amal Neerad, Priyadarshan, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Sibi Malayil, B.Unnikrishnan to name a few.

I was part off movies like Take off, Godha, Comrade in America etc.. which were all successful at the box office.


My other movies are Nimir in Tamil by Priyadarshan and Kalyanam in Malayalam by Rajesh Nair,Koode directed by Anjali Menon and Game Over directed by Ashwin Saravanan.

Apart from acting I am a practising Psychologist and also a senior PR Consultant with MSL group for the past 10 plus years. I have also been associated with Asianet, Kairali TV, Soorya TV and Doordarshan from 1995 onwards as an Anchor, Presenter and Panalist. 

I am looking forward to work in other languages and associate with interesting projects. Acting is my passion. And I believe in it.
