Describing oneself as a cinematographer is a little bit more complicated than I thought it would be as I’m penning this down. But if I were to say in simple words about who I am then I’d say, I love bringing visions of a director / storyteller to a fruitful life! To explore this interest and turn it into an insightful profession I flew out to California, and pursued an extensive One Year Cinematography course from New York Film Academy, Los Angeles. Having studied photography, I could draw similarities between the two and yet each one of the fields had its own unique beauty. It still blows my mind, when I experience the actual process of bringing stories that were written on mere paper and its conversion to a wholesome world up on the screen. I am passionate about seeing beauty in the simplistic things in life as a result, it portrays on many of my frames that I have created in the past. I’m a stickler for the tiny details, it is what intrigues me, hence I make sure that every aspect and tiniest of detail that is of importance to the narrative is visually clear to the audience and its relevance is registered in their minds. I have a natural flair at bringing sheer elegance and reality through the lens. I completely immerse myself into the world that I am portraying and indeed true and genuine art is created through purposeful collaborations!
