College Annual Fest

Our college MNNIT, holds an annual cultural fest Culrav, and as a member of dramatics commitee, I participated, I was only knowing format like stage play and nukkad, but i was asked to prepare a monologue, first i was knowing nothing about monologue then i gathered the info and started looking for ideas to perform. An idea came to me when I was at a railway station in which what happens is that a dustbin comes to life and tells what he goes through every day. It is a very comedy act how Indians interact with dustbins. I was going well when I was walking in my college and I was a dustbins. I was going well when I was walking in my college and I was a dustbin that was in the form of a penguin with the mouth opened, so I added that too in the script that in the start the dustbin will come with a penguin walk, so that nobody guesses what I was about to do. But something was missing. I love sad, angry, and crying elements in my act, so how do I add these to my act? Then one day I was eating mess food and an idea came that what if I make a dual tone act that is my play starts with comedy and slowly converted into an intense, serious, crime scenes, when dustbin sees  murder of a poor small girl who also took food and other items from dustbin, he sees it all but noone listens to him, he tells and shouts that he knows everything, but nothing can be done. This is the act that made me get the 1st podium in the monologue event, because this was the first time a dual-tone act was done, and for taking the character, I spent 3 days at the railway station, interacted with no one, and even the judge was shocked and asked my seniors who he was. But there was one shortcoming in the act, which I could see when I was switching from comedy to intense. That was visible, and I am still working on it.

School Play

This was my first encounter with acting, and literally, I knew nothing. From there, in a month I learned stage ethics, voice modulation, nine emotions, expressions, and doing the character vs. becoming the character. I literally cried every night that it was not happening. Please God help me out with this, and while on my way to school, I wished to every temple that came. Every day and day by day, I was showing improvement. But one scene was not happening, and that was to cry. I didn't know how to cry in acting; the problem was not that I was unable to cry. The actual issue was that I was thinking about what people would think; they would make fun of me and all those things. My teacher sensed that. Even till the final rehearsal, I was messing with those scenes, but I don't know what happened to me on the final day of the act. I literally cried, and when the blackout happened, I could see people crying too. Even my parents told me that you did a fabulous job; we were all crying. That scene, which I was not able to do a single time, became the best scene of the whole play. From that day on, I kept in mind that people will judge you at every moment, but you have to keep faith in yourself. The moment you show them the result, they will be with you and will only see the outcome, not the hard work, stress, and determination back then.
