Shambhu D Sahu

Shambhu Sahu is a journalist-turned-book publishing professional with over 14 years' excellent work experience with top-notch media and publishing organisations.

As a journalist, he has reported on cinema/entertainment during 2004-2010 when stories didn't come via Twitter/Instagram. His exclusive articles and film celebrities interviews have appeared in 'Lucknow Times, The Times of India', and 'The Indian Express', New Delhi, and other popular publications like Hindustan Times (via) Press Trust of India, New Delhi. In 2010, he single-handedly edited English edition of the prestigious "IFFI Daily" - a daily bulletin of "International Film Festival of India", Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He also served as a Member of Selection Committee, 2nd Woodpecker Film Festival in 2014.

In his current stint as book publishing professional (since March 2011), he has helped about 100+ national and international authors publish their books from well-reputed publishing houses like SAGE Publications India and RUPA Publications India (current employers).

He holds an MA in Mass Communication from GJUofS&T, Hisar as well as a PG diploma in English journalism from the prestigious 'Indian Institute of Mass Communication', (IIMC, 2004). He did his BSc from Ramjas College, Delhi University.
A bilingual writer, his Hindi poem "Samman Ki Maang" was awarded by Hindi Akademi, New Delhi and published in their book “Sambhavana” in 2002.

One of his commissioned books, “A Fly in The Curry: Independent Documentary Film in India” (SAGE, 2015) by Prof. K.P. Jayasankar and Prof. Anjali Monteiro won a “Special Mention” at the prestigious National Film Awards (2016).
He also volunteered for SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth) during 1998-2001, and helped in the coordination of their hugely popular cultural show "Virasat".
