Abhilash Choudhury

Abhilash Choudhury is a singer, songwriter and music producer hailing from the green valleys of Brahmaputra, Assam. He writes his songs in Hindi, English and Assamese, and makes music out of human emotions and surreal feelings. His music is inspired by folk, jazz, soul, pop alternative rock and ambient sounds. Lyrical sensibilities and minimalist approach in designing his soundscape gives his music a unique colour and texture.


Born in a small town of Goalpara, he grew up in a musical family with his mother Nanda Barman being an Indian classical and folk singer. He was exposed to different forms of music from an early age which helped him grow a diverse musicality. A graduate in Electronics Engineering and post graduate in Marketing Management from National Institute of Technology Calicut, Abhilash took up music as a profession after a brief tenure in corporate life.

Collaborations:


Abhilash is also one half of experimental trip pop duo "The Free Fall" featuring singer/songwriter/producer Vaisakh Somanath.He is also the founder of The Not So Popular, an initiative to promote independent music and art. He has also been involved with National Award winning Malayalam movie Bhayanakam
He has also recently collaborated with hip hop sensatio Kidshot who was featured in the movie Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy and ace producers Harman and Basshole for the song Asar Hai Abhilash also works as a record producer and is currently in the process of producing some upcoming artists from the Northeast.

His Band:

The 4 member band includes Nishant Talukdar on electric guitar, Prasenjit Roy on bass guitar, Sudarshan Konwar on drums and Abhilash on vocal and electric/acoustic guitar.
