Dream On Theatre Festival

Theatre production company 'Dreaming Stage' organized a three-day festival in Delhi this April. In its maiden year, 'Dream On Theatre Festival' got together a bunch of talented storytellers on one platform to showcase some of their best performances. A bouquet of five plays, the festival kicked-off on April 05 at LTG Auditorium, Mandi House in New Delhi. A celebration of diversity, drama & dreams, the festival was an eclectic mix of five plays ranging from comedy to serious drama and everything in between.
The vivid set of plays included classics like Ashadh Ka Ek Din, then Sweet Suite a Hindi adaptation famous British Playwright Ray Cooney’s Out of order. Wo Afsaana was a tribute to legendary artist Sahir Ludhianvi, while Tranzistor Untuned painted the picture of the aftermaths of India’s partition and the play titled Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai was a contemporary take on the social issue of women defamation.

Jalianwala Bagh - Urdu Stage Play

Play written by theatre stalwart Anis Azmee and directed by Javed Sameer depicts how Amritsar was before, during & after the massacre in Jalianwala Bagh, where thousand died in open firing by General Dyer. I play a punjabi lay man from Amritsar who brings the city's essence on to the stage and motivates the people to stand for their rights.
